Ink Master Season 2 Jesse Smith

Jesse Smith is a tattoo artist who was featured in season two and seven of Ink Master.

He owns his own shop, Loose Screw Tattoo, in Richmond, Virginia. He throws the Richmond Tattoo & Arts Convention, celebrating tattoo history since 1988.

Ink Master Bio[]

Jesse has been art inclined since be can remember. He began creating his own artwork as a teen while living in Heidelberg, Germany, where his father was stationed (military). He quickly became interested in urban culture and graffiti art.

After returning to the graduating high school and returning to the States, he joined the army. One of his first jobs was drawing caricatures at Busch Gardens in Virginia, where he found himself among a circle of artists who introduced him to the world of tattooing. He began drawing flash art and eventually learned how to make his own homemade tattoo gun.  After that, he never put a tattoo machine down again. He enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University to specialize in Illustration and further his artistic talents. He started tattooing professionally in Richmond, Virginia. Then he went off to London, England to tattoo with a well-known international tattoo artist, Bugs. After that, he came back to Richmond where he eventually opened his own tattoo shop, Loose Screw Tattoo.

Jesse continues to develop his signature style of quirky cartoon designs and further improve his use of color. Today, he is known as one of the most influential New School tattoo artists worldwide. Over his career he has worked in numerous tattoo shops & tattoo conventions in the US as well as overseas in Europe, China, South America, India and even Australia & New Zealand. He know owns his own shop, Loose Screw Tattoo, in Richmond, Virginia and hosts one of the oldest tattoo conventions in the United States.
